Meeting with OECD representatives to discuss digital education in Lithuania

On February 13, Estela Daukšienė and Giedrė Tamoliūnė, associate professors at the Education Academy and ISI researchers, participated in a meeting with OECD experts, who are implementing a study on the securing resources for school education: policies for digital transformation in education and preparing teachers for the future, aiming to help OECD countries reform their school education systems to meet the needs of the modern digital age.

At the meeting held at the National Agency for Education, Estela and Giedrė, together with other education researchers and representatives of teacher training centres, shared their practices, research, and insights on the implementation of digital education in Lithuania.

The meetings were organized to give OECD representatives a better understanding of Lithuania’s digital education ecosystem: its strengths, challenges, policy implementation, and opportunities for improvement. The insights gained will be used in the preparation of the Lithuanian digital education policy assessment report.

During the meeting, ISI representatives presented ongoing research like DI-daktika, WINDEE, TEDS 2, and AIR, and shared their experience in organizing and implementing teacher digital competence development programs, such as the national pedagogical staff qualification development program “Teachers’ digital competences for teaching and learning and assessment in a digital learning environment.
